LABTECH has designed a special training
system that introduces the student to computer PC based data acquisition and
control. Over the past recent years computers are becoming mort a port of
industry and research through the increased ability to access, interpret and
control data. It is vital for today’s computer engineers to have a good
background in this area.
This training system takes a
comprehensive hands on approach and covers topics about sensors and transducers,
signal conditioning, Visual basic programming, application development, system
integration. Basic signal conditioning is explore through a very visible system
on PCBs that are integrated into the working base station. The student is
allowed to use a variety of signal conditional techniques to prepare the signal
to the requirements of the PC computer. The signal may be acquired by either a
Serial based data acquisition system through the RS-232 port or through an 8 or
16 channel Data Acquisition PC Card.
Software is based upon the popular
Visual Basic which is ideal for these types of application. The trainer comes
with a complete functioning application program that allows him to conduct all
of the experiments. Also the source code is provided so that the student may
continue his lessons by modifying and writing his own applications.
