(ZZ3) Guide To The Labtech Model Numbers And Ordering Configuration

The Labtech model numbers are devised to present a systematic alpha-numeric numbering system which relates to the nature of the product. The numbers are created in this way to assist both our customers and our administrative staff in remembering and working with our numerous model numbers.

1. MODEL NUMBERS:

The model numbers have a general feature in that they are modular in formation and use. The modules generally follow the sequence and description given below:

1 st Module:

“XX”-PRODUCT CATEGORY. A Two Letter designation which indicates the general product group such as “ES” for Electrical Systems or “ED” for Engines Diesel. These Two letter codes match the codes used in the catalog index. This helps identify the general product area and also assists our clients in locating products within our catalogs as each product will be located in their respective sections.

2 nd Module:

“XXX”-PRODUCT NAME. A Three Letter or Number designation which is derived from the product name. This corresponds to the general description of the product. Example “IGA” could be an Ig nition Trainer, type A .

3 rd Module:

“XXX”-PRODUCT MODIFIER. This is used specify various options concerning the product. It may consist of from One to Four Letters or Numbers. Product Options are always explained in the Specific Product Brochure Data Sheet and should be indicated on the others as the 3 rd module. For example if you want to specify that the unit you are ordering is brand New and comes on a Floor stand, then the Product Modifier would be “NF”.

Typical product modifiers are as follows:

B

=

Bench Stand

B

=

Rebuilt**

C

=

Used (cleaned)**

E

=

Engine

F

=

Floor Stand

I

=

Instrument

L

=

Unmounted (loose)

M

=

N

=

New**

O

=

Original*

P

=

Special tools

R

=

Reconditioned**

S

=

Sectioned*

T

=

Training System*

W

=

Wheels

X

=

Stand Fixture

Y

=

Manual

Z

=

Motorized

* always appear first in 3 rd Module * * for condition of engine, transmission and parts

Now in putting all of this together, let us say that you want to order a Reconditioned three speed Automatic Transmission which will be mounted on a steel Rotating Floor stand then the model number would be as follows:

DT-TA3-RF

“DT” would stand for the product category Drive Train, “TA3” would come from Transmission Automatic 3 speed, and “RF” would stand for Reconditioned and Floor stand

2.   ENGINE MODEL NUMBERS:

The engine and transmission model numbers are formulated by indicating the manufacturer, model number and condition of the engine. There is a division between the basic engine type (Diesel-ED or Petrol-EP), this is followed by a code for “E” Engine or “T” Transmission, which is a two letter code designation the manufacturer. This is then followed by the modifier showing the condition of the engine and a number representing the manufacturer engine type. An example follows:

ED-EMI-NO1 :This is for Diesel Mitsubishi Engine, New condition, model 4DR5. E ngine Mitsubishi N ew O1 (4DR5)

ED-TMI-NO1 :This is for Diesel Mitsubishi Engine, New condition, to match the 4DR5 engine. T ransmission Mitsubishi N ew O1 (4DR5)

A) Condition Codes for the Engines and Transmissions are as follows, and a description of work that will be done to the engines is contained in the Labtech Engine Condition Specification:
