The standard Labtech Engine Test Beds
(ED-TBL or EP-TBL) can be modified with the TBX option so as to support the
advanced experiments conducted with the Modular Dynamometer System. By including
the TBX option in your order for our test beds, Labtech will modify the unit so
as to be totally compatible with the advanced features that lead onto the study
of thermodynamics.
The basic Labtech engine test bed is
capable of working with the Labtech MDS for general engine performance tests and
tune-up work. However, the TBX option will be desirable if more sophisticated
experiments are to be conducted such as: thermodynamic efficiencies, fuel
consumption tests, air consumption tests, effects of super charging, volumetric
efficiency determinations, mechanical efficiency determinations, energy losses,
etc.
In order to prepare the tests beds for
further capabilities, modifications will be made to the wiring system,
additional instrumentation will be added to the instrument panel, temperature
thermocouples will be added, the air intake will be modified, the fuel supply
modified and couplings for the Dynamometer will be provided.
