Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) Technology has been
developing rapidly over the past few years. Many vehicles
today use these systems in order to gain efficiencies by increasing power while
reducing fuel consumption and pollution levels. EFI Systems
and related Electronic Engine Management Systems form a complex subject, which
require technicians and students to aquire new skills. These
EFI Test Beds provide an excellent way for them to develop an understanding in
the operation, servicing, tune up, diagnosis, fault finding and troubleshooting
of these engines. The Labtech EFI Petrol Engine Test Beds
are some of the finest and most advanced test beds of their type on the market
today.
The EFI Test Bed is similar to our other
test beds except it has several additional features and options which are unique
to EFI Engines. For these EFI engines, Labtech has taken special care to
preserve the original wiring harness including the vehicle fuse box, relays,
controls, sensors and actuators for the EFI Systems. All systems are fully
operational as if they were on the vehicle. The ECU has been mounted next to
the control panel and is covered with transparent Plexiglas so the student may
become familiar with its layout and functions as well as observe the LED signal
light on the PCB. If the engine selected has a diagnostic port (to connect test
equipment) then we have also included this feature.
A wide variety of up-to-date reconditioned and new
engines are available featuring the latest EFI Technology. The engine test bed
features a very strong tubular steel frame that can accommodate most 4 or 6
cylinder engines with or without a transmission. Test Beds come complete with
the engine, transmission with shifter and clutch pedal (EP-TBL only), cooling
system with radiator and water pump/fan, electrical system with 12 Volt battery
and charging system, EFI fuel system with fuel pump and fuel tank, ignition
system, exhaust manifold and silencer, lubrication system including oil filter,
air filter, starter motor, instrumentation console with gauges and ignition key.
The units are ready to run and provided with operation and maintenance
manuals.
