: BUILD-UP TRAINERS
These trainers provide students who
have completed basic refrigeration theory with an opportunity to build their own
operational system. The trainers are provided in kit form with all necessary
materials required for assembly in order to make a complete operational
refrigeration or air conditioning system. The kits include standard commercial
and industrial components such as compressors condensing units, tubing, sight
glasses, evaporators, expansion devices, thermostats, control, etc.
Each kit comes with a mobile frame
which features a backboard made from perforated epoxy coated steel. The
components can be mounted into any position easily on the perforated steel back
plate. This allows the student to make his own configurations and layout.
Flare fittings are provided on all components so as to allow components to be
used again and again.
By following the courseware, the
student is required to design the system to match the specifications of a
particular situation. The design requires heat load calculations, component
sizing and system drawing. The student then builds his design and tests it
against the specifications. Therefore, through the exercises the student will
have an opportunity to practice his theoretical and design knowledge while
gaining manual skills development and troubleshooting experience.
Each trainer comes with courseware
covering theory; operation, diagram reading, installation, testing and
troubleshooting. The program features step-by-step
laboratory exercises and job sheets.
