The CMM-68000 has been specifically designed for educational establishments which are running courses in computer science and information technology as well as electronic engineering . The Motorola 68000 is ideally suited for teaching purposes as its architecture is simple to learn and understand. ROM resident software includes a full screen editor and assembler and powerful monitor facilities. Executable programs may be downloaded from the host PC. Careful bus arbitration design permits the access of all on-board resources by an off-board master making it easy to expand into a multi-master configuration. The unit interfaces directly to the Labtech Applications Board and the PC based computer control and microprocessor training system. The trainer can be used by students to develop software in assembly language or in a high level language at introductory, intermediate or advanced level.
The CMM-68000 features both the 68230 PIT and 68681 DUART chips, enabling students to examine and learn how these two important members of the 68000 series function.
Every Trainer is supplied complete with a manual which includes structured courseware on the 68000 and its family of peripheral ICs.
