Power Steering Components

Many modern automobiles feature power steering in order to make the vehicle easier to drive. Labtech offers a variety of systems and components to meet the training requirements of this skill area. There are two types of power steering units (PSU) in use today. The first type is a self-contained power steering unit which is hydraulic control valve that actuates the built-in Pitman shaft. The operational result is similar in function to conventional steering gear. The other system is called the linkage type power steering unit which features a separate hydraulic control unit and power cylinder which functions in combination with standard manual type steering gear in order to provide power assisted steering. Both utilize a power steering pump and reservoir.

The operable units are fully functional and are available either new or used (Reconditioned) and can come mounted on a wooden base for display purpose or come loose (unmounted). All used units are thoroughly cleaned and repainted so as to present a “like new” condition. The operable units are ideal or demonstration purpose, dismantling exercises, exhibits or replacement parts.

The sectioned steering gear is excellent for demonstrating the function and operational principles and characteristics of the different types of components. All key elements have been carefully sectioned so as to clearly expose all operating mechanisms. All sectioned units feature a handle for operation and are mounted on a wooden base.
