Domestic Air-Conditioning Trainer

ITEM:    DOMESTIC AIR-CONDITIONING TRAINER

These trainers are designed for the student to explore the principles and operation of domestic air conditioners.  The student will be able to follow the refrigeration cycle, explore the functional components and controls, review installation procedures, perform servicing and troubleshooting exercises.  The trainer is a fully operational unit that contains all the basic components as found on domestic air conditioning systems. These components have been clearly laid out in a serviceable manner and are mounted onto a work bench type frame.  A number of special controls, meters and transparent view ports have been provided in order for the student to control and monitor a variety of experiments.  The unit above shows the Labtech electronic fault insertion system (RDO-WAC-4) which is an interactive fault system especially designed to develop the students diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

FEATURES:

The unitary style (window type) air conditioning unit has been reconfigured to enhance the learning process.  Clear Plexiglas panels have been placed on all sides to expose the internal parts.  Components are clearly laid out and mounted onto a mobile steel stand that incorporates a work surface.  Silk screen diagram of the refrigeration circuit is provided for instructional guidance.  Hand valves are used to cut in and out various components and also allow malfunctions to be introduced.  Temperature points are provided for monitoring performance.  Sight glasses monitor the refrigeration state.  A manual with student job sheets are included.

COMPONENTS AND SYSTEMS INCLUDE:

Hermetic compressor, forced air condenser, forced air evaporator with multiple speed fan control, capillary tube expansion device, high and low pressure gauges, 4 x sight glasses, filter/drier, 4 hand valves, thermostat control.  Control panel with OFF/ON switch, Voltmeter, Ampere meter.
